Shipping update for my American friends: 

Since the US administration ended the tax exemption for Canada in August, measures have been put into place by Shopify and my primary carrier, Canada Post, who has updated options to include prepaid duties. This means that instead of having to pay a mystery import fee when you receive your shipment, you'll be able to see and pay for the additional taxes (duties) before checking out. This will give you more clarity on what the total cost will be, which is why I've decided to start shipping to the US once again!
